MUFFINS

2 cup boiling water
2 cups bran buds

Mix together and cool.

Cream:
3 cups sugar
1 cup Crisco

Add 4 eggs

Mix well then add:
1 quart buttermilk
1 cup nuts
1 cup raisins
Bran mixtures from above

Sift:
5 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
5 tsp. soda
4 cups bran buds (dry)

Fold in just until mixed.  Refrigerate.  Do not stir.  Bake in muffin tins 20 minutes at 400 degrees.

HALF RECIPE

1 cup boiling water
1 cup bran buds         - Cool

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup Crisco          - Cream

2 eggs

Add eggs to sugar & Crisco.  Mix well.  Add :

1/2 quart buttermilk
cooled bran mixture
1/2 cup nuts
1/2 cup raisins

Sift:
2 1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp. soda
2 cups dry bran

Add to bran mixture.  Stir just until moistened.
