PASTIES


FILLING:
3 cups diced potatoes
3 cups diced carrots
1 medium onion (chopped)
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 lb. ground beef
1/4 lb. ground pork
1 Tbsp. butter (melted)

PASTRY:
4 cups flour
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup shortening
3/4 cup cold water

Divide into 5 balls.
